Bariatric Advantage
VitaBand Nutrition Engineered for the AGB Patient The Bariatric Advantage VitaBand formula is specifically designed to meet the needs of patients who have undergone Adjustable Gastric Banding (AGB). While potential nutritional risks are often not discussed in relation to AGB, patients can develop deficiencies due to caloric restriction, rapid weight loss and other reasons. Some of the deficiencies reported with AGB include Thiamine1, B12, Folate, and Iron. Negative bone remodeling, indicative of calcium loss, has been reported as well. The VitaBand product currently comes in Watermelon, Lemon Cream and Mixed Berry flavors that was selected through taste tests conducted in post-operative patients. The formula consists of two chewable wafers per day, which can be taken at any time of the day.
